With Own Art you can spread the cost of the art you love, over 10 months. You can choose to finance all or just part of your purchase and multiple works can be bought with one loan. You don’t have to pay a deposit and - best of all - you can take your art home with you straight away!
Once you’ve found the artwork that you want to buy, just let us know that you’d like to apply for an Own Art loan to finance your purchase. All you will need is proof of residence and signature (for example, a driving license). The application process typically takes around 10 minutes.

Own Art is a fantastic scheme backed by Art Council England, with 0% finance loans provided by Hitachi Capital Finance. Many of the leading art galleries in Britain are members of the scheme.

May Watson (b. 1996) is a British artist based in London, known for colourful paintings and prints that combine hand-painted imagery with dry observational humour. Working across painting, drawing and printmaking, she transforms everyday thoughts, cultural quirks and familiar moments into playful visual narratives. Animals, objects and landscapes often become stand-ins for human behaviour, exploring identity, nostalgia and the absurdities of ordinary life.
Watson studied History and Politics at Newcastle University before completing a Diploma in Comedy Writing and Producing at the National Film and Television School. Since establishing her full-time practice in 2020, she has developed a distinctive style defined by bold colour, loose painterly marks and handwritten text. Her work has been exhibited in London, including at Opera Gallery, and is available as original paintings and limited-edition prints.
