Benjamin Thomas Taylor grew up in Snowdonia and now works in London. He fuses landscapes of his childhood home with the urban imagery of the city. Taylor paints vibrant Pop Art style landscapes, bringing his experience of both these spaces into his work. A recurring motif in his wall art sees large graphic letters overlying exotic and tropical landscapes. He blends the real with the fantastical for a dreamy and escapist aesthetic.
Fuelled by a sense of joy, his detailed paintings and art prints open up hyperreal spaces, crossing from reality into a parallel world of limitless possibility, full of colour and creation. Often, his work includes a painting-by-numbers theme, designed to remind the viewer of childhood.
Having studied painting at the University of Brighton, Taylor has since gone on to exhibit at a number of galleries, across the UK and internationally.
