About the Artist – David Shrigley

David Shrigley is an artist and illustrator best known for his darkly humorous cartoons. Self-branded as an outsider in the art world, Shrigley is known for making art print compositions that take on the inconsequential, the bizarre, and the disquieting elements of everyday life. His childlike illustrations bring joy and humour into home interiors and galleries.

Shrigley's work has been exhibited widely, including solo shows in San Francisco, Copenhagen, Los Angeles and closer to home at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow.

In 2013, he was nominated for the prestigious Turner Prize for his solo show David Shrigley: Brain Activity at the Hayward Gallery in London.
